The net isn't spreading out properly

Mesh tension too loose during netting

  • Adjust the mesh brake and/or feed rollers
  • Check that the tension on the feed rollers is even

The spreading bar is not spreading the net normally

  • Check and clean if necessary

The net roll is slipping on the shaft

  • If the roll is shaft-mounted, ensure the roll is locked onto the shaft.

The net is pulled unevenly onto the bale

  • Feed the forage evenly into the bale chamber
  • Forage has stuck to the roll; clean it
  • Ensure that the net feed into the chamber is in a straight line. Center the roll mounting relative to the chamber
  • Check that the tension on the feed rolls is even
The network isn't connecting properly

Dull or rusty blade

  • Sharpen or replace the blade
  • Adjust the brake so that the mesh is taut while cutting
The net is tangled around the poles

A failed cut has left strands of mesh at the cut site

  • Sharpen or replace the blade
  • Adjust the brake so that the mesh is taut while cutting
Split bale, eye protection online

The net has come loose due to poor cutting

  • Check the tension of the net and adjust it to be tighter if necessary
  • The net must be kept taut during cutting
  • Sharpen or replace the cutting blades

Net tension is too loose while the net cutter is running / The net roll is slipping on the shaft

  • If the roller is shaft-mounted, ensure the roller is locked onto the shaft.
  • Adjust the net brake and/or feed rollers
  • The feed rollers must be adjusted
  • Apply talcum powder to the net roller

Net feed is skewed. Due to feed rollers being misaligned with each other

  • If the roller is shaft-mounted, ensure the roller is locked onto the shaft.

The mesh is damaged due to the feed tray

  • Check and clean the tray

The mesh is catching on the cutting blade

  • Check the blade adjustment. Sharpen or replace the blade. Adjust the mesh brake.
Torn net

The rollers in the net chamber have damaged the net

  • Adjust the PTO speed according to the baler’s instructions as the bale is being formed

The bale is damaged when it is removed from the baler

  • Check and ensure that the baler is properly aligned horizontally with the tractor
  • Adjust the PTO speed according to the baler’s instructions when removing the bale

Insufficient net

  • Use at least two wraps. Check the actual number of net wraps by counting after two or three bales. Increase the number of net wraps, especially in challenging conditions and when baling coarse material such as straw
The net tears when bales are being netted

The brake on the mesh roller is too tight

  • Check the brake adjustment
The net is wrapped too loosely
  • Increase the tension of the net during wrapping
